What will be the approximate travelling cost and other expenses in MYR?

I’m travelling to Malaysia with a friend. Will b there for 10 days and visiting Kuala Lumpur, Pangkor, Penang and LAngkawi. My hotels and air tickets are already paid for. What will an estimated travelling cost for commuting and other expenses (taxis, food, lil shopping etc)? How much money should I be carrying in MYR( malaysian ringits)?

Penang Local Boy answers:

Carry only a small amount of MYR

get a good credit card with the lowest rates for international transfers and use it.

Also, make sure that you can use it for cash – you will find cash exchange cards at the airport.

All shopping and restaurant food should be charged with credit cards

see if you can find an unlimited visitors travel card for public transportation and use it (less need to carry cash!)

Penang Local Boy answers:

Please see the Fireflyz condition of Carriage on their website www.fireflyz.com.my … I have copied the 2 relevant paras here:

7.2 Unaccompanied Minor: An unaccompanied minor is a child between the ages of 6 and 12 years (on the date of travel) who is not traveling in the care of a parent/guardian or designed adult. An unaccompanied minor will not be accepted for carriage unless they are accompanied by a person of at least 18 years of age.

However an unaccompanied minor will be accepted for carriage subject to an Indemnity Letter from parents/legal guardian and subject to payment of a charge as published by us. The unaccompanied minor will be escorted and will be personally attended to by our cabin crew and ground handling staff from the moment they check-in right up to the time the unaccompanied minor arrives at his/her destination.

We reserve the right to reject any unaccompanied minor as we deem fit.

7.3 Young Passenger Traveling Alone (YPTA): YPTA refers to a child between the ages of 12 to 15 traveling in the absence of his/her parent/legal guardian or designated adult. This child is not treated or referred to as Unaccompanied Minor unless requested by his/her parent/legal guardian. We reserve the right to reject any YPTA as we deem fit.
