Jenny asks…

Penang Georgetown – Sunway Hotel?

Having holiday with my friend next week. All of us are first time visit to Penang (free and easy).

Staying at Sunway Hotel, wanted to know any nearby malls and place for good food within walking distance.

Heard about Gurney Drive but kinda like too far away from our hotel.
Would like to have more details before we head off.
Any website for me to have the full details?

Also planning to visit the Chinese Temples, not sure if it’s too far for our hotel or…

Anyone knows whom can help.. tks.

Penang Local Boy answers:

1) prangin mall (shopping and quite affordable price. Gurney is more expensive) and very near to your hotel.

2) gama (quite old but also a shopping mall)

3) eden hutton lane restaurant at hutton road. Near penang road. (good western food and affordable price).

4) a kopitiam (food centre etc) near umno building. A lot of choices of foods
